Wittner Finetune Cello Pegs Set

Wittner · Fine Tuning Cello Pegs

Geared pegs for cello,
tuning that holds.

Wittner's geared cello pegs replace the four traditional pegs in the scroll. Internal gearing makes pitch adjustment smooth and steady; the pegs hold their position through temperature and humidity changes rather than slipping back.

Pre-order only

Sizing matters. Please enquire to measure your peg-hole diameter before ordering so we can supply the correct fit. Pegs are made to order and shipped after your sizing is confirmed.

What changes

Small, controlled adjustments.

Traditional pegs use friction. They grip until they don't — and the difference between flat, in tune and sharp can be a few millimetres of rotation. Wittner's geared mechanism turns that into smooth, controlled movement, so micro-adjustments stop being a wrestle.

Because the gearing holds the pitch, the cello settles faster after restringing and stays in tune through changes in temperature and humidity.

Installation

Fitted by a luthier.

The pegs are designed to fit a standard peg-hole and look like traditional pegs once installed. Fitting requires a luthier — the peg-hole diameter and taper need to match the peg shaft accurately, which is why we ask for measurements before ordering.

Once fitted, they need no special maintenance. They're not consumable; they are an upgrade to the instrument.

Who it's for

Students, professionals, teachers.

Students who tune themselves benefit most — the device removes most of the technique barrier to tuning. Professionals who restring frequently appreciate how quickly the cello settles. Teachers save lesson time. The pegs are equally at home on a school cello and a professional instrument.
