About Opal Green
Handmade synthetic core, consistent across the set.
Opal Green viola strings are handmade synthetic-core strings designed for warm, uniform tone across all four strings. The A string uses a Kevlar core, which avoids the tonal shift that commonly occurs between the first and second strings when different core materials are used. The D, G and C strings use nylon cores with silver or tungsten-silver windings for warmth and depth.
The low tension profile across the set gives a responsive feel under the bow, supporting easy tone production and long bow strokes. A fine tuner is recommended when using the Kevlar A string.

Kevlar core avoids the tonal shift common between A and D strings. Clear and consistent, transitioning smoothly to the D without a change in character.
Warm, full middle
Nylon core with silver winding. Warm and full at the tonal centre, with a responsive feel and smooth bow contact.
Open, resonant lower voice
Low tension gives an open, gut-like feel. The G resonates freely and blends naturally with the D and C on either side.
Deep, warm foundation
Tungsten-silver winding provides warmth and depth in the lower register without heaviness. The low tension keeps it responsive and clear.
